Internal Vacancy 1 x Pre-Legal Collector (NB07) Reporting to - Manager: Pre Legal Collections

Job Purpose:

To manage portfolio for vehicle finance internally and externally within the legal fraternity; assist clients with rehabilitation options; general queries and perform general administration duties in order to minimize risk; maximise recoveries and protect the Bank’s interest.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to structure problematic accounts
• Deal with external tracers and legal council in tracing of the debtors and/or assets
• Accountable for conducting tracing, locating, collections and repossession of Bank assets (vehicles) in accordance with legal processes.
• Review accounts in default by doing reconciliations to determine the ageing of defaults and debtor’s ability to pay.
• Contact debtors by a variety of means and establishing a relationship of trust to allow for repayments of debts by selecting and recommending a manageable payment schedule and recovery method.
• Follow up with debtors who fail to fulfil their obligations and promises.
• Explain legal requirements and  obligations, obtain payment, establish payments, and renegotiate payments.
• Maintain account records, including  contacts, correspondence, payments, documents, and legal actions initiated or taken.
• Gather and assemble necessary supporting documents.
• Recommend actions to be taken for outstanding accounts; forward respective files and recommendations to supervisor for review and approval.
• Updating of event management screens on the banking system.
• Provide information and feedback to management if and when required. (Stock-listing, CRAM reports and feedback etc.)

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Grade 12 (25 points), relevant qualification Diploma in Law, Credit, Banking and / or Finance
• The applicant must have at least here (3) years banking experience and/or collections experience and experience in dealing with vehicle and asset finance
• A sound knowledge of collections procedures and legal processes.
• Computer Literacy.
• Minimum BE (previously Code 08) Valid Driver’s License.
