Investor Services Operations Specialist (NB08) Reporting to - Manager: Custodial Services
Job Purpose:
To understand the client’s operational investment needs, provide consistent superior service to clients and provide quality operational networks administratively, via internal operations and relevant market participants. To minimize losses and reduce overall cost of operations in order by ensuring all trades are confirmed and settled according to timelines to achieve Nedbank strategic objectives
Key Responsibilities:
- Transition management and maintenance of client formalities
- Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment, and be able to meet tight deadlines
- Ensure trades are settled by making sure there is sufficient scrip to settle trades
- Meet client needs by building and maintaining sound professional relationships and adhering to Service Level Agreements
- Minimize losses and reduce overall cost to business by ensuring all trades are confirmed and settled as per agreed timelines
- Deal with queries by liaising with stakeholders and internal clients to avoid failed trades and penalties (Reputational Risk)
- Manage internal and external client satisfaction by building and maintaining relationships, understanding client needs and delivering services to meet client requirements
- Manage staff and resource plans by ensuring accountability in task and/or project allocation
- Manage operating risk at targeted levels by driving compliance to internal and external guidelines, policies, procedures, business rules, regulatory needs, defined parameters, and compliance/governance requirements
- Maintain high standards of business ethics by adhering to Code of conduct, policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, client limits
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes; systems and policies and support implementation of new processes; policies and systems
- Contribute to policy, procedures, and standards development by making recommendations for improvement
- Obtain buy-in developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g., operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholder’s businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank
- Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impact on role by reading the relevant newsletters; websites and attending industry sessions
- Should be able to manage a team of people by knowledge management, continuity, and team success through constructive participation in a diverse team and sharing knowledge with team
- Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders
- Reduce revenue leakage by optimizing revenue collection processes
- Understand and meet stakeholder (including Regulators) needs by building and maintaining relationships through regular interactions

Education & Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 (25 points) with preferably a B. Com or 3 year Business Management Diploma.
- 3 - 10 years industry/ banking experience dependent on tertiary qualification.
- 3 - 5 years people management experience in financial risk and process management (will be added advantages)
- General Banking Knowledge, Product Knowledge, and Industry Knowledge as well as deep knowledge and understanding of the capital markets (will be added advantages).
- Has superb written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to draft engaging and impactful messages for inspiring employees and investors
