The Nedbank Kapana Cook-off Competition has launched in May 2023 and three regional rounds as well as a final round are following now. The Cook-off caters for two categories - the entry level food vendors and a professional round for experienced chefs that has a chef qualification.
The three regional rounds takes place at the coastal, central and northern regions with a final round to crown the winners. At the regional rounds on-the-day entries are taking part in a pre-round where they are judged on their skills and hygiene during a salsa round.
Ten participants then go through to next round making Kapana, At the end of the event three participants from each regional round are identified (with highest score) to attend the final round. The final round consist of professional chefs competing for the first, second and third places and the entry level vendors competing for the winner’s spot, as well as second and third prizes.

The Professional Chef Category:
The Professional Chef round will be held on 04/08/2023 in Windhoek at Soweto Market. All contestants need to travel on their own expenses. Submit entry forms at any Nedbank branch or email ElsaCa@Nedbank.com.na The Professional Chef round entries close on 27/07/2023.
